Language Arts

We talked about comparing and contrasting when we have a constructed response to complete.  We reviewed how to find important information within the text and make notes to help us find our answers when we try to write.  We did the writing together and worked on using good transition words, finding information from the text, and other helpful hints.  Students are going to work on a paper on their own next week.  Since we completed one together, I am certain they will do great!

This week we talked about fractions.  We talked about a few new math vocabulary words.  Ask me if I know what a unit fraction, numerator and denominator is.  We are going to continue to work with fractions next week.  Please continue to practice multiplication and division facts.  We are going to continue to do drill tests for multiplication.  help your student study the problems they are missing.

*Please make sure your student is completing their math calendar each night.  We go over the problems everyday.  If your child has not completed it, they are missing out on learning.  They are welcome to do more than one column a night, but make sure they have done at least one column a night.
